Total’s First LNG Cargo Arrives at Tianjin Terminal
On 6th March 2015 in Tianjin, Total delivered the first LNG cargo of 147,000 cubic meters to the CNOOC Tianjin terminal.
The delivery signified the supply from Total’s global LNG portfolio and is now expanding to North China, including Beijing and Tianjin, in addition to the coastal regions in the South China.
Starting from 2010, Total has been one of the major LNG suppliers for China. We have signed long term contracts and spot sales and purchase agreements with CNOOC, for up to 1 million tons in annual sales of LNG for a 15 year period. As of 2014, Total has supplied more than 8% of the Chinese LNG imports on average, with 5 million tons of LNG already delivered. In 2014, the parties initiated a framework for an additional supply of 1 million tons per year of LNG as well as further cooperation throughout the LNG value Chain.
