Total Sponsors Tsinghua on Climate Change Research

Total Tsinghua Research Project Signing

On Jan. 21, 2015 in Beijing, Total signed a 2-year research sponsorship agreement on an energy and climate change research cooperation project with Tsinghua University.

The signing ceremony was held in the Environment and Energy-efficient Building. Mr. Laurent VIVIER, Senior Vice President of Total Gas & Power Services and Dr. Ma Jun, Director of Overseas R&D Management Office, Tsinghua University represented two parties and signed the agreement.

By sponsoring the China Energy & Climate joint research project between Tsinghua and MIT, Total aims to work with the CECP team in order to better understand the dynamics of Chinese energy markets and the process of energy-related policies making. University of Tsinghua hopes to strengthen its knowledge on global energy markets by working with Total.

President He Jiankun, Former executive vice president of Tsinghua University, principal of Institute low-carbon economy, Professor Zhang Xiliang, Dr. Ou Xunmin from Institute of Tsinghua Energy Environment and Economy, Dr. Chang Shi Yan from low-carbon energy laboratory, other Tsinghua teachers and doctoral student, as well as Mr. Bertrand de La Noue, General Representative of Total in China participated in the kick-off meeting.
